At the age of four, Oliver lost both his parents in a car accident. In his teenage years, he turned drugs and eventually ended up homeless in the Bay Area. After meeting one of our volunteers at an Oakland food delivery center, Oliver had an encounter that changed the trajectory of his life. Oliver eventually became a volunteer at the food center, which gave him the stability he needed to get housing, a stable job and a new hope for life.
As a single working mother, Daniella was faced with the challenges of balancing her budget, paying her bills and feeding her family. After visiting with her case worker and explaining her situation, she was referred to our partner food delivery center where she began receiving a weekly shipment of fresh foods from WeFeed. With help from WeFeed, Daniella was able to save the money she needed to pay for schooling, which will help her get a better job to provide for her family.
After attending UC Davis and studying food access and security, Stephen joined WeFeed as an intern and began to lend his insights and perspective to helping our organisation grow and scale our impact. During his time as an intern, Stephen helped organise a student volunteer program that led to over 2,000 college students signing up to help serve WeFeed each month.
